Two musicians of yester years have joined forces with a rocking guitar player and an electrifying adrenergic percussionist to form this rhythmic central New Jersey band known as “MALHAAR".

Architect Ali Qureshi (Tabla, back-up vocals) had been a familiar face in early 1980’s in his alma mater, National College of Arts, Lahore, as well as a member of “Rogers” and “Revival” was known more as a guitar player/singer than an architect.

Early 1980s also witnessed Dr. Agha Naqvi (Vocals, keyboard, flute) as an accomplished and active musician/singer in his college (Allama Iqbal Medical College) as well as other young hangouts in Lahore. He loves to sing a wide range of semi-classical numbers from the days of Manna Dey to the Fuzon era and everything in between.

A sophomore at Rutgers, Abbas Ali (vocals, guitar) is a creative and energetic lead guitar player who loves to combine new with old. Inspired by Salman Ahmad of Junoon, he rocks like a true Junooni, lending the songs his youthful energies.

Dr. AZ Khan (Drums, Dholki) has been playing music all his life but took a little short detour to become a dentist. Now he is back on his drums providing adrenaline pumping rhythms.

The logistics of the band and sound mixing are managed by Ahmad “guDzHassan.

MALHAAR  plays a rainbow of old and new Pakistani, Indian and Western music mixing their guitar and keyboard, with tabla and drums to create an array of unique sounds along with soothing yet strong vocals.
